They mispronounced my name, but I really appreciate the analysis and contrast of the pieces. These two pieces happen to be limited content that requires a paid subscription, a deliberate choice I made to establish a sense of exclusivity around the work. I was intentional in doing this to control the narrative, allowing the audience to engage with the material more thoughtfully and purposefully. The poem itself is intense, exploring deep and often tumultuous emotions, and the title in itself could be a trigger for some, inviting them to reflect on their own experiences. But these thoughts and feelings were mine at the time I was feeling and thinking them, raw and unfiltered, which further emphasizes the authenticity of the work. I wanted to leave it up to the audience on whether they truly wanted to proceed, presenting them with the option to delve into a more complex emotional landscape. I believe the best way to achieve this is to make it exclusive; by requiring a subscription, I hope to filter the audience, ensuring that those who engage with it are genuinely interested in the journey I’m presenting, ready to confront the difficult themes and emotions that arise. The goal is to cultivate a space for meaningful reflection and dialogue around the content.
